Here we go.
I like adventures. I like exploring new places and experiencing new things.
I'm a Dad, husband and Pastor, and until very recently that has been more adventure than I could have ever dreamed of.
My wife and I have gone through some great adventures together, adventures that are both exhilarating and at times heartbreaking. My job as a Pastor brings adventure every day, with new challenges and opportunities as I get to work for Jesus and His Kingdom. And my kids are an adventure in and of themselves as we discover more and more who they are, and who Jesus has made them to be. You throw in the odd midnight puking session, and our kids certainly keep us on our toes.
Lately though, I've felt the pull of a another adventure.
I say that it's another adventure because it's not like one adventure is ending and a new one is beginning. All the other adventures are still going, just another one is starting up. And honestly, it's one I never thought I'd start.
I'm starting a business.
I love being creative and telling stories. And the heart of this new business is centered around telling stories online.
I thoroughly believe that stories are the most powerful way that you can connect with people online, and that social media is one of the best tools you can use to tell your story online.
The unfortunate reality though is that most organizations struggle with social media. There just isn't enough time in the day to do social media well.
I'm especially passionate about the Church and helping Churches tell the story of Jesus online. The Gospel is the greatest story ever told and it consistently changes lives. We need to learn to tell that story on social media.
That's where Scott Creative comes in. I want to help Churches share their story, connect to their community, and show people who Jesus is through social media.
Over the years I've developed a level of expertise and a high level of skill in building a presence on social media. I am a "Facebook Nerd". My friends consistently remind me of this as I excitedly tell them about some update Facebook has just rolled out. This adventure is a way for me to use that passion for the sake of the Church and for Jesus.
But it's not just Churches and it's not just social media.
I've also learned to share stories visually through graphic and web design, and I do think those are both equally as important as our social media presence.
I also believe that if you're not a Church, my skills will help you connect to your audience and your community. My skill set can help you reach your goals, whether it's getting people passionate about a non-profit or buying your product.
So here we go. Another adventure starts. Thanks for coming on the adventure with me!
